Why the clock is ticking in Florida

Florida's PIP law gives you 14 days from the accident to get your first medical care. Miss that window and your PIP medical benefits are forfeited, even if the injury is real and clearly tied to the crash. PIP pays up to $10,000 when an emergency medical condition is documented and up to $2,500 when it is not. A chiropractor cannot make that emergency determination, so we will tell you where that step fits.

There are good clinical reasons to move fast too. Injured tissue stiffens when it sits, and the body quickly rewrites how it moves to avoid pain.
