Chiropractic care is a comprehensive treatment of your body physically. Imagine using your car everyday to drive to work and run errands, but never taking it in for an oil change or tune-up. How do you think your car will drive for you in 3 years without maintenance?
Same logic with your body. It is your vehicle through life. You already take care of the superficial layers of your vehicle, your hair, teeth, and skin. However, most neglect their internal structure.. your spine, muscles, and organs.
Chiropractic is the mechanic for your spinal structure, to correct the dysfunctions that are causing you pain. In this case, when it's been in an accident, we restore your body's structure to full optimal function.
What is Whiplash?
When you're involved in an accident, the instantaneous impact causes your head to violently whip forward and backwards past the range of motion that your cervical joint is usually able to move. This force causes cuts/tears of your muscles and ligaments that hold your neck in place, causing pain and soreness. This can cause joint instability and disc herniation resulting in pinching of your nerves.
How does chiropractic help with whiplash?
With whiplash injuries or any physical injury in your car accident, you can temporarily mask the pain with medication. However, the physical repair of your spine, joints, and muscles require a hands on treatment. Chiropractic is a solution in this type of injury. A physical injury requires a physical treatment. We use our hands to adjust the joints that aren't functioning well, massage therapy to heal the muscles and prevent scar tissue, and exercises to restore and strengthen the ligaments to stabilize your spine.
