The DUTCH test is an at-home dried urine hormone test. It measures your sex hormones, your cortisol pattern through the day, and how your body breaks those hormones down. Meridian orders it, reviews every result with you, and builds your plan from it at our Southside Jacksonville and Orange Park offices.

What is the DUTCH test?
DUTCH stands for Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones. You collect a few urine samples on filter strips at home over one day and mail them to the lab. It shows your sex hormones, your adrenal hormones like cortisol, and how your body breaks those hormones down. Meridian offers it at our Southside Jacksonville and Orange Park offices.
What does the DUTCH test measure?
Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone along with their metabolites, cortisol and how it rises and falls through the day, DHEA, and markers related to vitamins B6 and B12. The metabolites are the part most standard hormone panels leave out. They show how your body is processing hormones, not just how much is there.
How is a DUTCH test different from a blood hormone test?
A blood test is one snapshot at one moment. The DUTCH test collects several samples across a day, so it shows your cortisol rhythm and how your body processes hormones. How do I collect the DUTCH test?
At home. The kit ships to you with collection strips and instructions. You collect a few samples over one day, let them dry, and send them back to Precision Analytical, the lab that created the test. If you still have a menstrual cycle, we tell you which day of your cycle to collect.
Why do you look at the gut before hormones?
Hormone plans tend to stall while digestion is poor or overgrowth and inflammation are still active. So we work in order: gut first, then adrenals, then hormones. Many patients start with our gut work and run the DUTCH test once that is underway.
Should I stop my hormone medication before testing?
Do not stop or change any prescribed medication on your own. Tell us everything you take, including hormones and supplements, and we will tell you how to time your collection. Any change to a prescription goes through your prescriber.
