A full exam on day one
Your plan is built after a hands-on exam, around your injury and the job you need to get back to. We go over how you were hurt, test your movement, strength, and nerves, and decide if imaging is needed. You leave knowing what is wrong and what the plan is.

Chiropractic adjustments
Gentle, specific adjustments get stiff, injured joints moving again and take pressure off irritated nerves. Drug-free and non-surgical.

Spinal decompression
When a disc is part of the problem — a bulge or herniation from lifting, for example — decompression takes pressure off the disc and the nerve.

Dry needling
Releases the tight, knotted muscle that forms after a strain. It helps you move and work through rehab with less pain.

Step-by-step strengthening built around the work you do. The goal is to rebuild the capacity your job asks of your body.

We track your progress, update your work status as you improve, and keep the carrier and adjuster informed along the way. Getting you back to work safely is the target from visit one.
— IS IT AN EMERGENCY?
Go to the ER or call 911 first if you have a head injury, severe bleeding, a possible broken bone, chest pain, trouble breathing, or new weakness or numbness in your legs, or you lose control of your bladder or bowels. Emergency care does not need authorization first. Once you are stable, call us and we will help you set up follow-up care through workers' comp.
04 — GOOD TO KNOW

Hurt at work? Do these three things

It takes a few phone calls. Then you can focus on getting better.

01 — Tell your employer now. Report the injury to your supervisor or employer right away. Florida law gives you 30 days, but there is no reason to wait. Reporting early starts your claim and keeps it clean.

02 — Ask for Meridian by name. When you talk to your adjuster or the workers' comp carrier, ask them to authorize your care at Meridian. We are an authorized workers' comp provider in Jacksonville and Orange Park.

03 — Call us with your claim number. Give our team your claim number, your employer's and adjuster's contact information, and the date you were hurt. We take it from there with the carrier and get you on the schedule.

How authorization works — and how we help

In Florida, your employer's workers' comp carrier approves your care before treatment starts. That approval is called authorization. Emergency care is the one exception.

You do not have to sort it out alone. Once you give us your claim details, our team contacts the carrier and your adjuster, confirms the authorization, and gets you scheduled.

As you heal, we keep the carrier and adjuster up to date with your progress notes and work status, so your care keeps moving.

What to have ready when you call

Your workers' comp claim number. Your employer's name and contact person. Your adjuster's name, phone, and email. The date you were hurt and how it happened. A photo ID and any work restrictions you have already been given.

How many visits you get

Florida workers' comp covers up to 24 chiropractic treatments or 12 weeks from your first chiropractic treatment, whichever comes first. That is a solid block of care to calm the injury down, rebuild strength, and get you moving toward full duty.

If you need more, the carrier can authorize more. Catastrophic injuries follow separate rules. We track your progress at every stage, so the carrier can see where you are and what you still need.

That is also why starting early matters. The sooner you begin, the more of that care goes to healing instead of catching up.

Workers' comp questions

Does workers' comp cover chiropractic care in Florida?
Yes. Florida workers' compensation covers chiropractic care for work injuries when the care is authorized by your employer's workers' comp carrier. Meridian is an authorized workers' comp provider, and we see workers' comp patients at our Southside Jacksonville and Orange Park offices.
Do I need authorization before my first visit?
Yes. In Florida, the carrier must authorize treatment before we see you, except for emergency care. Ask your adjuster to authorize care at Meridian, then call us with your claim number. Our team works with the carrier and adjuster to get the authorization in place.
Can I choose Meridian for my workers' comp care?
You can ask for us. Tell your adjuster you want your care at Meridian. If you are already treating somewhere else, Florida lets you make one change of physician by sending a written request to the carrier. Call us and we will walk you through it.
How many chiropractic visits does workers' comp allow?
Florida law allows up to 24 chiropractic treatments or 12 weeks from your first chiropractic treatment, whichever comes first. Do I pay anything for workers' comp care?
Authorized care is billed directly to the workers' comp carrier. Florida allows a $10 copay per visit only after you reach overall maximum medical improvement (MMI).
How soon can I be seen?
Same-day appointments are available. Once your care is authorized, call either office and we will get you in as soon as possible.
